Lets get some talk going about GITS 2nd Gig

Well the 2ng gig has taken one hell of a turn. It has gone from just a small mission of retrieving plutonium to an all out possible nuclear battle. In case some have missed it, here's what happened.

Refugees from previous wars have all been basically "Stored" in a region called Degima. However these refugees were not allowed to go into tokyo because of laws. Some had managed to stow away in and continue on with life while the rest (which happen to be millions) are stuck in degima which is really just a hell hole.

So this character called Kousei is going around and basically rallying the refugees almost to rebellion. They don't want to be under the governments controll and want their own country. But Kousei is a hero to them and in reality is a puppet of a millionaire and political power figure named Gohda.

Well now there's plutonium in Degima that has to be retrieved from a powerplant. So section 9 is sent in to recieve the Plutonium. In reality they are used as a decoy so the real plutonium can be safely transported.

Well tiem goes by anbd the Refugee uprest gets more and more Violent. Eventually battle starts to break out among the military and the Refugees. Then aparently information comes through that says the refugees have plutonium after all.

While this is all happening the government head has approved a epace treaty between Japan and the U.S. This was all so the U.S. could use one of their Nuclear Subs to launch a missile at Degima. Also the prime minister of Japan has been over thrown but not removed from office. They kept it in secret that when this whole thing is over they can pin all the Blame on her and then take her out of office.

This is all being run by Gohda in hopes of corrupting the government and gaining control to build his own ideal society.

Well aparently it has come down to see if the Refugees have Plutonium. There are a possible of three reasons to saying they do.

- To Launch an attack against the Refugees out of fear
- To pin blame on the prime minister incase there is a nuclear detonation
- Or to have a reason for the U.S. to attack so Japan remains innocent but gets rid of what people consider to be a useless people.

What are your thoughts on what's happening?

I haven't revealed the end and really I just want to see what people think what happens.

You've now made everything clear(since i missed some eps.)
But the one thing iv'e been thinking about is Kousei being that young boy doing the origami when Motoko was a kid, which will probably lead to a stand off between the two leading to Kousei's death.

You think so, for some reason i had it in my mind that Batou was the Boy but Kousei seems much more probable. If it's the two of them squaring off (Which from last episode is very likely) it should be a hell of a fight. My guess is everything will come to a hair of going to nuclear War and then Kousei will be killed and the Refugees will back down jsut because their indestructable leader will be gone.

What Im hoping is that the laughing man makes a grand entrance even for one or two episodes. That would own all lol.

meh...they gave the laughing man story a good resolution imo
bringing him back would kill the current storyline...

and to respond to an earlier statement, when I saw that episode, I thought to myself...hmm, wonder if Kouse (I thought it was spelled Kuze...oh well) is that boy, because from the ep I know the Major is the girl

...now that I think about it...it makes more sense because...

It was with Kousei. She hit a attack barrier or some kind of file that totally threw her for a loop. Even Batou commented that she wasn't acting normal. Something about Kousei's cyberbrain shook her.

its probably one of those things where she has/had feelings for him at some point because he's the kid, if that kid was Batou, as close as they are, they would know, and wasn't that kid brown haired, i always figured Batou to be naturally silver haired.

Well they all have had previous cybernetic enhancements, some members even full prostetics. Togusa is just a rare case because he prefers not having the enhancements. Batou mentions that for joining section 9 he recieved his cybernetic body. I'm assuming he just went for that look and style because of the strength.

One thing I wonder is that if the human brain in GITS is partially electronic, can you upload combat data for martial arts like in the matrix. I know in one of the episodes in 2ng gig "Poker Face" one of the members talks about squaring off against the major and wondering if she was downloading a certain software.
