when did u first watch anime?

If this has been brought up before then I apologies. Forgive me.

But when did you watch your first anime? I dont mean like caught a glimpse of some somewhere. I mean like actually watching a series. And on top of that, what anime was it?

For me, the first anime I ever watched of "Mysterious Cities of Gold" and I was 3 years old.

I guess it must have brainwashed me somehow and turned me into the otaku I now am today

i think about 10 years ago. i was watching Ronin Warriors but i had no idea that it was anime.

the first series that i truly watched was when the Pokemon craze came out. i knew that they were cut and that the names were changed (i.e. donut and rice ball...of all things....they call it a DONUT!?

) so i went from series to series...and here i am now, dozens of titles later

Yeah, same here. Was it really 10 years ago? And I think I knew it was Japanese animation, but I didn't know about the whole anime culture and whatnot. I also used to watch Samurai Pizza Cats, Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z when it was in syndication. Is it just me, or did Ronin Warriors seem a little like Sailor Moon for guys?

oh goodness. I dont remember it if the first anime i saw was "Vultron," "Thundercats" or some other one I can't remember off the top of my head. that was back in '87? I was 6

I think the first anime that I watched was Astroboy when I was about 6 years old. I never realized I was watching anime at the time, either.

Last winter...it was Mononke Him but Utena was what really got me into anime.
