what a weird ending. [Evangelion]

hey i was watching evangelion a few days back when my friend bought the dvd, and i thought it was kind of weird when shinji killed asuka simply becuase she told him to, it kind of made me think that evangelion had no point for what was going on in the series. Man that was the weirdist ending i'v seen kinda sad but yet very weird. Did you guys think this was a weird ending.

To be honest, I really don't get why people think EoE is such a mindfuck. I mean, compared to the Utena movie, Eva's more like, I dunno, Cowboy Bebop or something.

well, yeah...compared to Utena. EoE wasn't too bad, what was bad...for me...about Evangelion was the last few episodes, the last DVD. That hurt my head and was one of the main factors to why I don't really like Gainax Studio productions...they try too hard to make something totally psychological and deep that kills the entire previous storyline that was trying to be developed.

Yeah, Evangelion isn't the hardest anime to understand. Just give it a good think and you'll probably understand, most of the symbology or so called "hidden meaning" is actually quite obvious. Just hit up Wikipedia or something...

Thing is, all of the speculation on the religious imagery is for naught.

I can't remember who, but someone involved with the production said all the Kabbalah and Christian imagery was put in there because it just looked really cool.
