So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Do these DVDs have English subs? Okay, that's one, possibly two translators, a translation editor, someone to time the subs properly and maybe lay them down, and someone to do post production video work. Ohh, that can't be cheap.
Do these DVDs have dubs? Throw in a voice director, voice actors, studio time, some people to make sure it syncs up, and post production audio work. That adds to the price too.
How much did the US distributor have to pay the Japanese company in charge of Kenshin for the distribution rights? A lot? I'd bet so.
What about DVD duplication, packaging, and marketing costs? More money there.
Oh my God, they also want to make a profit so that they can stay in business and afford to bring more anime over, for the same reason? They're not just doing this out of some socialistic/communistic utopian ideal? Well, then they have to add a bit to the price, along with all the additional expenses.
Considering that's close to 30 DVDs for that price, I think your bitching is stupid and crybaby-ish. How much are 30 American DVDs? Pretty much the same price, and they don't have extra costs. Get over it, pay for it, or shut up. They can charge whatever they want, and considering all the above expenses, I'd say they're charging a fair price.

And btw, US dvd's cost closer to 15, not 27 bucks each, and that isn't counting the ones that I get in my cerial boxes.

I guess I better give up on those steak and egg breakfast I usually eat and start eating cereal again.

And I think the average anime DVD cost is actually around $19 now a days. Ah, I remember paying 40 bucks for Guyver on VHS back in the day. God, what was I thinking?

All the kenshins are 17.98 at www.deepdiscountdvd.com
Animenation is overpriced, you only go there if you can't find it anywhere else.
