Record of Lodoss War

Post by SSJVegita0609 » Sun Nov 10, 2002 10:11 pm

I know jack shit about it, can someone answer me these questions?

1) Is it worth looking into?

2) How long is it?

3) Is it more action, drama, or comedy?

Thanks.

I'd say yes, if you like epic fantasy in the traditional D&D vein.

It's about...ooh. Forgot. I think it's between 9 and 12 parts.

Try to work through episode 2 if you can...for some reason, the animation quality and direction is teh ass. It picks right back up and is pretty gorgeous to look at.

I've never seen it all, but I've always wanted to (balking at the $150 price for the DVD set). Try to avoid the VHS dubs... it's typical early 90's work, which is to say, it pretty much sucks and is unintentionally funny in places (Deedlit as a valley girl, for one).

If you mean the OAV, then it's more like $50, not $150. An enhanced collector's edition was released recently. The Right Stuf has them in stock:

I actually ordered the full first series of Record of Lodoss War a week ago.
Coming this wednesday =) (I hope!)

The store said it was a very much appreciated anime, and cult.
'Record of Lodoss War - Chronicles of the Heroic Knight' - The sequel series
did just as well and pleased the RoLW fans =)

I think that there were 12 or 13 episodes in the first series.

It may be a figment of his mind, though. Like the kid who invents a daddy to fit in with the other kids, even though the truth is, he is either divinely conceived, like Jesus, or an aborted fetus.

Nah, I wouldn't doubt MJ has a good Blockbuster 8) .
I'm out...

I just bought a used copy of the first season of Record of Lodoss War, episodes 1-13, for $40. They're DVD and in excellent condition. Then I walked over to FYE and saw the collector edition, with episodes 1-27, and it was like $150. I think I got a good deal :D
