Princess Mononoke came out in 1997 in Japan and Outlaw Star came out in 1998!

I wonder what you call shows like Astro Boy or Speed Racer...

I'd have to agree about the "old-school" comment.

Mononoke is pretty decent, but I found it to be... kinda dull. (My opinion)
Outlaw Star is just annoying. Overuse of anime stereotypes in a non-comedic manor, characters that couldn't grow on you even if you fertilised them... I think there was only one episode that was "okay", and I think that was only because of fan-service... (Again, my opinion)

I liked both but I did like Outlaw Star much better. Mononoke was kind of boring to me sometimes. But I can apreciate the storyline. One shing I liked about it was the part were he cut their heads off with a bow & arrow. One reason I like Outlaw is becouse of the character desines.
