12 to 15 [FMA ages]

I was wondering why on the first episode of fma it says Ed is 15 and Al is 14 then later on everyone calls Ed a twelve year old then it says three years pass and Ed is 15 and Al is fourteen.At first i thought this was funimation fucking up then I got some of the Japanese episodes and the same thing happens.

It's what some people like to call a flashback. The first couple of episodes take place in the present, then it flashes back a few years, then resumes a few episodes later moments after the first episodes.

It's quite simple really, especially since it gives dates ( I think anyways. . .).

Thats what I figured that it was a flashback,but I never saw any date so I wasn't sure if it was a flashback or not.
