Appleseed

Well, I watched the movies last night

The story was perfect, I don't think it couldn't have been any better. My only complaint was that the character animation was really out of place. To me. it was like watching a video game at times. But overall, I loved the movie.

What did you guy's think?
"I've spent the last ten years of my life defending my country, I've sacrificed for it, fought for it, and bled for it, now it's time I got something back, so please just respect me and my fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines as we continue to do this job."

So did I. I also noticed that some time it looked like a scene from final fantasy when there weren't any characters on the screen. I liked it though.

I just finished my rental. I liked it. Some of my friends are confused by the plot and background. I've seen the original OAV and read some of the manga so I found myself filling in details for them. Shirow Masumune's work I always feel needs a TV series to get the story, not one shot movies or short lived OAV's.

I got the 2 disc collector's disc. The making of special feature is really cool to check out.

Animation was interesting but I still like watching 2D cell animation better.

My twin sister had bought the Appleseed Movie last tuesday. We watched it the next day. I thought it was so awesome. I loved it. I got the plot even though I have never seen the ova of it, but from a music video I have seen with the ova of Appleseed I say that the movie has better animation.

The 2D animation is really cool. I never thought that there were any movies like that but I guess so. I have seen stuff about the Appleseed Movie before it was released here, they had action figures and stuff at Suncoast when it wasn't released yet, which are cool, I would get the merchandise just because its anime. This is the coolest movie I have ever seen, I hope to see more movies from the director or whoever directed the movie so on. I would know if I actually had the dvd infront of me but I don't because I am in school right now in my Graphic Design 2 class so I don't know.

This is mainly because it's the same computer animation technique as used in that one.

The only real difference between the two was the skinning of the character models -- using cel-shaded textures instead of the "real-skin" technique Square employed in their movies.

I actually like this relatively new animation style. Ever since the possiblities were opened with Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Final Flight of the Osiris, use of Motion-Captured CG has exploded in all sorts of projects, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the new animated Spider-Man show and the recent Dragonball Z Playstation games.

I hope that the animation companies continue to refine this technique and make it better than it is now. :)

Weird, I thoughti was because the backgrounds looked like they could have been levels of a FF game in another life.

I watched this with my brother and its the best Anime/Computer graphics mix ive ever seen. I think its up there with Final Fantasy Advent Children. Anyways the story was pretty good, the action was pretty damn good, it was pretty damn good. :D
