tresure planet?

ok i just saw a comercial for a new disney movie called treasure planet, and they say "join jim hawking" some kind of outerspace adventure, sound familiar to anybody, jim hawkin-outlaw star- an outerspace adventure... looking for tresure. uh oh. disney must really be hurting for ideas if they are doing something so obvius! sure the story line may be different and original but the basic idea seems to be ripped off outlaw star. they have to fight a cyborg-harry mcdougal, a band of space pirates? ok thats a fierly obvius one. this is all from one advertisment i can't wait till an outlaw star fan is dragged in there and totally dismantles it on here.i figured i'd give him a head start.

actually, treasure planet is a "remake" of treasure island, in which the main character was named jim hawking. ols took the name and part of the story.

Because, as Chef already said Treasure Planet is, more or less, Treasure Island in space. If you've ever read Treasure Island you'd know that the bad guy was indeed a pirate.

Of course they would! Let's break it down.

Space...the final frontier. Having conquered everything on the ground, the only place to go is up into outer space!

Pirates is really a compound word made up of pie and rats. Everyone likes pie, and who can forget those lovable Rats of NIMH?

It's a winning combination any way you look at it.

What most people don't know is that they did already. It's just really hard to get cheap labor up there to run the over priced gift shops, so that's why they haven't turned it in to a theme park yet.
