Hi... I'm new here so... I hope that I can make new friends here...

Anyway, I need your opinions on why you chose that particular mecha-anime... ya know... gundams and the likes............

I'm having a little debate with one of my friends at school so I need you to give out your opinions...

Thanks!

I'm not a fan of giant robots / stuff blows up series, so when I watch mecha anime, I tend to watch shows that have some good romance or comedy mixed in, like Escaflowne or Full Metal Panic. I haven't seen Evangelion yet, so I can't make a recommendation on it.

It's okay! Actually... I like the mecha ones with lots of action. Gundams Wing and Seed are on top of my list and I'm currently having those on my top 'Mecha-series to fight for'. I don't like Seed Destiny... I don't know why but I just don't like it...

I would say "Escaflowne"
Because it was at that time really original to put a "mechas story" in a Heroic-Fantasy story.
I love these "giants knights" fight.

Gundam...

I'm a huge Gundam fan.

Within the Gundam universe I specifically loved:

Gundam X - An interesting view of NewTypes in an alternate universe.

Gundam Char's Counterattack - The climax of Amuro and Char. Very nice mecha designs and great characters.

Gundam F-91 - It's more of a mecha showcase with a little romance between Seabook and Cecily. I particularly love the mecha designs used here. The Crossbones Vanguard mobile suits were very very nice.

Gundam 0083 - A classic side story IMO. The character development was great.

I have yet to see Seed.

Good Choices.

I havn't seen Tekkaman Blade in SOOOOOO long. I want to see it again.

Actually I havn't watched a lot of mecha anime's as of late at all.

Not really. Aura Battler Dunbine and the lesser known, but nevertheless still acknowledgable Panzer World Galient did this a good 10 years before Escaflowne (fun fact on that note: One of the mech designers on Escaflowne was also responsible for several Aura Battler designs)

Also...EVAs aren't mecha. They're kaiju in nice armor.

That said, there's really no one pick that works well here...too many points to work with really.

Just figured it couldn't hurt to clarify on those two points
