why is it that if in japan sex scenes need to be cesncored, how to animes like La Blue Girl and Cool Devices get uncencored?

I'm not sure why, but somehow, the law in Japan says to censor nude underparts...... but if an Anime company in America can get a hold of the original drawings... then that Hentai can be remade uncensored. Japan won't be seeing the uncensored version in their stores.... but America will. Of course.. I'm sure there are compaines in Japan that import the remade Hentais and sell them secretly or something.

By the way, that censoring law is the reason why tentacles are in Hentai. Hentai animators in Japan got around the laws by using tentacles on monsters to replace a certain other body part. The effect somehow has had many benefits, and started a new trend. You know, if all hentai wasn't about raping, I'm sure that Hentai artists in Japan could get the laws changed.... Actually, I think that originally, only Live Porn was supposed to be censored... And Hentai was probably supposed to be away around that.. but then the laws somehow carried over anyways...

Of course, if all of Japan's best Hentai artists opened a company in America, they could go all out with very intense uncesored Hentais......

I heard that Japan's obscenity laws are still pretty much based on ours - circa the 1950's, which explains the mosaicing or pixels. If you look at most of the readily available X-rated magazines from that time, a lot of it is tasteful, as it were, pictures of topless or naked women. No pubic hair (or even many shots of the pelvic region), and DEFINITELY no hardcore genital display. The REALLY hard stuff (explicit nudity, sexual acts, etcetera) was amateurishly produced, and usually distributed in a less than public manner, otherwise you could get prosecuted for public obscenity. I think a rather famous court case in the late 60's or early 70's (although the name escapes me) changed this, and now, here in the US, you can get all sorts of unedited erotic goodies without so much as stares from other people.

Anyhow, the Japanese kept their obscenity laws on the books, unchallenged, until a few years ago when a few porn producers started testing the waters. No idea of the status of uncensored porn in Japan, but it's slowly getting there. The yakuza, naturally, are the biggest producers of uncensored domestic porn over there, BTW.

Well... hopefully, the censor laws get eradicated soon cause the mosiacs are really destroying the more beautiful hentai pictures. Hentai pics that use a girl's really long hair to censor look very nice though.

Could that court case you are talking about be Harry Flint? you know like the movie... The People Vs Harry Flint?.... (or was it Larry Flint?)

I thought only male genitalia were censored. Hence the Fuzzy Crotch Cone of yaoi, and the entire existence of tentacles.

It's amazing how many of us didn't really know to much of this, or nothing at all, but were just too embarassed to ask.

Anyways, I didn't even know sex scenes had to be censored in Japan.
