Best Place to Buy Anime DVDs
In my local area I have found that Best Buy has the best selection and price for the drive. I have another place I like, AllDirect.com, for a lot of anime DVDs that are both dubbed and subbed. However I would like to know a few other places to find purely dubbed anime like FLCL (and any other anime DVDs for that matter) so I thought I'd ask and see what places everyone gets their DVDs at and what price range.

Re: Best Place to Buy Anime DVDs
Best Buy always seems to have good prices for me as well. A few other places with decent anime sections are F.Y.E and Sam Goody at the malls. They are usually a little higher prices than Best Buy though.Red Wolf wrote:In my local area I have found that Best Buy has the best selection and price for the drive. FYE - all the dvds are $30
BestBuy - all the dvds are $22
eva = 8 dvds
8 x 30 = 240
8 x 22 = 176
240 - 176 = $64
$64 = 2.9 dvds at bestbuy
what does all this mean?
u can almost get 3 extra dvds if u buy 8 at best buy instead of fye
and sum other stuff

Well, online i have to say http://www.animenation.com, they have a lot of imports, some expensive, some cheap, and they have a lot of non import dvds(anime, of course). But as for retail, i must say bestbuy does have the cheap factor going for them, but they dont have the selection(well at lest mine dosn't), ok they have a selection, but nothing compared to a Suncoast, which is more expensive, but they have a hell of a lot more dvds than bestbuy, but not everybody has a suncoast, so bestbuy would do as a substitute.
Here's the suncoast link, if you have not been there yet. Remember, suncoast does rip you off, in the store and online, but they have a better selection than bestbuy, I reccomened that you go into a suncoast store rather than the online one because the reg. store has a better selection.

Local retail stores:
Best Buy and Tower Records, usually 20% off. But for Tower that's only during the first week after release.
Target and Circuit City have started carrying anime, but it's scattered among their normal movies (hard to find) and they only carry popular titles like Akira and YuGiOh. Good prices, though.
Kinokuniya Bookstore for some region 2 discs.
Online stores:
DVD Planet almost exclusively. Generally 20%-30% off. Best part is that if they say it's in-stock, it really is (unlike ULN/BestPrices.com).
CD Japan for region 2 discs.
And The Right Stuf for those limited Bandai boxes.

I'm not sure what the postage cost would be, and they'd only work if you had a region 0 player that can do PAL. but you may want to try http://www.madman.com.au
approx US$15 a DVD.
