Is Fruit Basket a good anime?

Post by Evangelion Unit 01 » Wed Jan 26, 2005 2:04 am

I have seen a few AMV's, and it looked intresting, and I was wondering if anyone here strongly recommends this series, and why, of course please explain your self in a non-spoiling fashion, for obviously I have not seen it yet. Thanks!

OK, seriously, to answer your question, it's a wonderful series with a large cast of amazing characters that are almost all surprisingly well-developed. And you get a little bit of humor, drama, angst, romance. . . more humor. . . a great storyline. . . lots of bishies, if that's your thing. . .

Most amazingly, the main character, Tohru, is happy and sweet and kind and somehow not annoying. While the perky happy types usually annoy me, she seems really genuine, and she's also really funny.

So yeah, I HIGHLY recommend this series. The manga is also very good (if not better) and continues past where the anime ends.

Yes, you definately must find and watch this anime. Fruits Basket is one of my top favorites and always will be for quite some time.

First off the humor in it is neverending, so if you ever feel down, you pop in a DVD of FB and you will fix yourself right up.
All the characters are great fun and well developed, so you definately need to see it. You won't regret it. ^.^

Yes, it's very good. I definitly recomend getting a friend to buy it. (I showed it to a friend, and by the start of the third ep he was ready to place an order)

And for once, the english dub is really good!

Hanajima is the greatest.
The sword, it thirsts to drink of man,
The sword at last must win,
Today is gone, and yesterday,
Must echo in the wind.
