Why would they release their anime on their video game systems?

True. BUT, Pokemon is already on DVD (don't know, don't care about Spongebob), and the article was talking about them forming their own animation studio, not just having another company producing anime of their games and such.

Why do the newer consoles play dvds? Well, for one, (for ps2 and xbox) most of the games were planned to use the superior DVD format, so why not offer and additional feature to help boost sales like being able to play back DVD movies? Sure worked for PS2.

Pretty safe to say it would be on regular DVD's, why limit your market audience?? Putting it on cartridges and selling it to little kids was a way to expand their market range. I would honestly buy one or two anime made about some of my favorite old school Nintendo games. Would they be any good?? That’s the question I would ask, such things having oh so terrible track records.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. . .

I really don't know what i should feel in this case. Part of me wants hug everyone at Nintendo for coming up with such a great idea and another part wants to strangle everyone at Nintendo for coming up with such a idiotic idea. :?

Well, with what's said in the article (or what isn't), I wouldn't be surprised if most of what they make is new anime that isn't based on any of their games (all though with them being nintendo and all, a game would almost certainly accompany said anime at some point).
