Live Action Evangelion

I keep hearing about this "live action Neon Genesis Evangelion" movie coming up, and I really wonder about how good it's going to be. I mean, I've heard a few good things/rumours:

* WETA Digital is doing the special effects (the same crew that did LotR)

* Daniel Radcliffe and Shinji Ikari (Owwwww)

* Hugo Weaving as Gendo Ikari (now THAT works)

* Jennifer Garner as Misato Kitsuragi (*scratches head*)

Anyone heard anything else?

And - the most important question - do you think it's going to be any good?

Me thinks someone is pulling your leg or something else...

The LAMovie would be kewl but .. well i dunno most marvel movies suck and i dunno if anime - live action would work.
Only time will tell i guess.

We know. It's been discussed a lot on these boards.

No. It's FAR too early in the production process to worry about casting. First they need things like a script and a director.

AD Vision and GAiNAX will also be involved, and last I read, the plan was to make it a self-contained story that made no attempt to tell ALL of the Eva story, rather leaving room open for a sequel or two.

And - the most important question - do you think it's going to be any good?

Yes, but it's probably going to be the kind of thing that we'll only be able to enjoy fully if we come into it with no expectations and if we don't worry about how true it stays to the original.

Now can we please stop talking about this for another year or so?...
