Understanding anime. [spoilers possible]
I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread where you can ask questions certain parts in any anime series that confuse you and hopfully get a reply.
For example why in the first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion would Rie suddenly appear on the street out of no where and then suddenly disappear. Since I was told the first episode of evangelion was a piolt that just might be a glitch.
But if you know please reply back, and if you have any other question about parts in anime that confuse you feel free to ask.
One last thing on why I am doing this, is because I know there are prabably a lot of thread that ask certain questions about certain animes. So in stead of that why not just have a thread decated to al anime. Well that's my logic behind it anyway.

(Spoilers - Ep 1 of Evangelion and The End of Evangelion)
In the first episode when Ayanami Rei appears for a moment to Shinji, it's generally accepted that this is in some way an avatar of the Third Impact, as the exact same thing happens to Shinji at the very end of EoE when he sees the same peculiar Rei avatar for a moment and then it's gone like a ghost.
My personal opinion on the matter, though I don't exactly have evidence to support it, is that Rei exists like a God-like being she becomes the main driving force for the giant white naked being that is the compiled entities of Lilith's body & soul and Adam's body & soul. This gives her (or them, as Kaworu also manipulates the being at one point) the ability to end everybody's life and cause the third impact and all of that jazz.
Since Rei appears at the very beggining and very end of the series, watching over Shinji, and she is fully clothed unlike when her many clothesless selves go around killing everybody earlier in EoE, I beleive that Rei, having become God, watches over humanity, and the events that occured in the Evangelion series and Shinji in particular, in the hopes that someday people would be able to understand each other.
But I'm sure there are people who would want to fight me on that.

Don't disturb me now, I can see the answers

Rei said, in EoE, (Something like)
"I am the physical manifestation of hope."
So, I always figured that Rei's appearance in ep 1 was that it was the first sign of hope in Shinji's life.
...Or...something. But, as usual, I guess I was mistaken.
There are a lot of questions I want to ask about Gasaraki, but there are so many and they are so broad that I think I should just make my own topic for it, so that the right crowd of people is attracted.
