Even my mother a non anime lover with limited knowledge about it knows about homosexual relationships in anime/manga.

Meaning a recovering homophobic, swear I was born with homophobia.may be you want them to be lesbians? your overactive imagenation does not prove that thay are lesbians. did thay ever say "we are lesbians"? no! do you have any lesbian related activities screenshots to prove that thay are lesbians? no! all you got is hear-say. most people here know very little about anime and the culture it comes from. so it is natural that you mistake the display of friendship as some act of lesbianism. there is still no solid proof of any lesbianism in anime.

I know about the japanese culture, I'll be living there soon and I have japanese friends. Independently I've also studied it's culture from before the Meiji Era. Mistaking affection for love/sex/whatever? I don't think so.

Like Takeuchi Naoko, who created Sailor Moon and SAID/STATED that Haruka & Michiru are indeed a couple and that he intended them to be so. By The Way they are both women.
