Aoshi vs. Saitou
Why do most ppl think Saitou is better than Aoshi? Aoshi is weaker than Saitou during his first encounter with Kenshin, but his second encounter gave Kenshin some problems, and were about equal as shishio predicted. And it was only the use of the succession technique that stopped him. Yes, Kenshin was Battosai and was not able to beat Saitou when he fought him. However, Kenshin when he hit Saitou in the back and sent him thru the wall could have killed him or seriously injured him if it weren’t for the reverse blade. 2ndly when Aoshi fought Shisho has able to hold him off for awhile, while having a gapping injury (which was able to even take down Hiko (kenshin’s master), granted Shisho was screwing around, Saitou didn’t fare very well, he didn’t even leave a physical mark Shisho (If u don’t count the mark on his headband) and was easily crushed.
One thing that would also be interesting is seeing Saitou vs. Aoshi hand to hand (Both really good) Saitou was able to easily crush Sanosuke and hold off with easy, Aoshi is a kempo master and took out Sano with an elbow?

aoshi v saito
I think that the reason Aoshi has so much strength is his attitude...sorry, his passion to win a battle. He has centered all his being into killing who he thinks is invincibly strong (Kenshin). Sano has physical strength and even with his "evil" past, he lacks fundamental strength that comes from within.
