Recomendations for dark anime

Post by billy_wires » Sun Mar 21, 2004 9:43 pm

I have a thought brewing in my head for a horror video, and I need some dark anime. I would prefer movies to series because then I don't have to spend as much, but if it is a good series shoot it out for me. (God that sounds stupid). Things that have scary scenes are best.*

Umm, well I have never seen it but i've been told that Perfect Blue is pretty dark. Thats the only movie I can think of, since I haven't seen that many. As for series, there's thousands of them. Any of the vampire ones, like Hellsing, are dark and Witch Hunter Robin is pretty dark too, although not as much. I can't think of anything else at the moment, maybe later...
-Are children who act in rated 'R' movies allowed to see them?
-Do they have girl’s bathrooms in gay bars?

Don't forget Vampire Princess Miyu, it's one of the darker things that I've seen.

Boogiepop Phantom! This is a horror series that is incredibly excellent and should suit your purposes just fine

I own Hellsing and I am going to get Bloodlust and Blood, the Last Vampire, but the way Vampire Hunter D (the original) looks might not fit with the other shows. Hrm, Boogiebop Phantom you say? I shall look into that.

I'd recommend Berserk. Just be careful with it, since it can cross the line and be too violent
