Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X question
well, this doesnt have too much to do with anime, but does anyone know what the name is of the clothes that kenshin and most of the male characters where during the series and movies, and where can I buy them if they are still made. Also does anyone know where I can get full length katana's? Id like to buy these things

Kenshin, Yahiko, and (sometimes) Kaoru wear a kendo gi and hakama. You can get these at most good martial arts stores. The gi will run in the $20 range, while the hakama can be anywhere from $30 to $70. Sano wears a type of karate gi pants with a happi coat. I'm not sure where you can get the coat; I ended up making my own.
For the katanas, there's a number of places online that sell them. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is swordsonline.com. I believe they even stock a few sakabatou.

Kenshin wears a gi, with hakama, which are the big samurai pants. As to a sword try out http://www.badgerblades.com. They sell fully functional swords (including katana), that are guarented to not break under any conditions except abuse (putting it on train tracks and watching it be ran over) and extreme temperature (if it gets hot enough the tempering in the blade will be lost). The swords are also decently priced (the katana were around $300 last time I checked), but do to high demand, they don't make sheaths for the blades. Hope this helps.

Hunting around a bit, I found http://www.sakura-0.com/ , which carries kendo gi for $43.50, and hakama for between $39.50 and $63.95.
http://www.centuryma.com/ also carries hakama for $60, but not the gi.
http://www.allblackbelt.com/ carries gi for $50 and hakama for $60.
A google search for "martial arts supplies" should find you a number of other stores that might have what you're looking for.

ok, as you noticed, the badger blades "buy a sword" section doesn't seem to be up. So you'll have to go down to "contact" and go to sales to email them. But a thing of note, don't even bother with badger blades if you just want something for decoration like the one you put a link to. The swords badger blades sell are again fully functional, and can be used for a plethora of uses like chopping up your neighbor's car.

I haven't bought one of these but eventual I will when I'm ready. I want to study a martial art before I pick up a real one. For me it has to do with respect for the weapon.

Kenshin started out on one of these, and is what I would recommend:
