Manga adaptations you want to see redone.
When a manga is turned into an anime, once in a while you'll hear fans of the original manga complain about how it was hardly like the manga at all. Sure, you could just forget about the anime and just read the manga, but there is always a few adaptations you want to see reanimated. The following are my picks.
Battle Angel Alita: Never saw the OAV anime version, but from what I heard, it's just a cheap rehash of the first two manga volumes. The motorball saga and the berserk Zapan story were really cool, it would make my day if those were ever animated.
3 x 3 Eyes: Didn't see the anime for this one either, but it was made around the late 80's-early 90's, and the manga ended about a year ago.
Sailor Moon: Hardly a Sailor Moon fan anymore, but anyone who has seen the anime and read the manga knows there are a few differences. Two that I remember in the manga is that most of the bad guys never get a second chance in life and Tuxedo Mask actually has his own attack, besides the stupid rose.
Love Hina: Only seen a little bit of both versions, but I can already tell that they are totally different.
Oh My Goddess!: See above.
Akira: I only have volume 1 of the manga, but I understand that both versions have some big differences, mostly because the movie was written at the same time the manga was being written, kind of like X/1999.
Gunsmith Cats: The OAV was a continuation to the manga (I think), and it was really well done with a lot of research done in pre-production, watch the chase scene in episode 2, sweet. It had some problems though. The first problem was that the villain was a cross between Bean Bandit and Riff Raff, and the second problem is that Bean Bandit isn't even in it. This would be my top pick for what should be reanimated.

Well, i think the X serise was far better than the film, just becos X is just a big story. Akira? Cant knock the daddy of anime (quote me on that
), but the manga is allmost a diffent world.
As for what im still wating for, why hasnt someone done Blade of the Immortal or Zombie Powder? Hmm?

i agree on the Akira manga as well. it would of been better if it was a 26 episode series. i would like to see Trigun more to the manga as well. same with Love Hina. the only thing its close enough to is the movie specials and still they were different. i guess you can say the manga of LH is more hentaish then the show.

Fruits Basket. I haven't read much of the manga, but I know they cut at least two of the characters for the anime. And from what I hear, the manga is still being released in Japan (though I'm not positive on that). So even though I'm pretty sure that the series ending also took place in the manga, it sounds like there was a lot more they could do... I've also heard rumors that they're going to do a second season, which would make me very happy.

The sad thing about Kare Kano is that the creator of the manga was apparently unhappy with the anime and didn't want Gainax to make any more...
Apparently, the problem was that Gainax added too much humor to the animated version.
I have never read the manga... but truth be told, I'm not a big manga fan.
I would like to see a new Battle Angel anime... the 2 ep OAV inspired me to collect that whole title... and I love that manga... wouldn't mind seeing a full length Anime series (it would be a lot of episodes)
I also wish they'd do more Oh! My Goddess and more Gunsmith Cats...
Again... these were short OAVs that interested me enough that I started picking up those manga as well.
While there is a lot of Ranma already, I wish they would do the last story arc in some form (like an OAV) and also do some stuff with Akari, who really should have shown up in the anime as well.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

Good choice on Ranma 1/2, I forgot about that one for some reason
. Another one I remembered, Ruroni Kenshin. I've looked at quite a bit of the original manga and I just got the first volume of the Kyoto arc for the anime (really looking forward to how it keeps going) and there are a lot of differences between these two. Some characters where either added or changed for the anime version, like the old doctor and his two little nieces, and some situations were totally redone. Then there's the third season that I've heard so much about.

Probably too busy to be here right now.
