Vandread: The Third Stage

Is there any truth to rumors that a third stage of Vandread is in production? (Since they DID win at the end of the second stage)

Or is this just mass disinformation on behalf of wishfull thinking otaku?

Its hard to say whether or not, a third installment will be made. The manga is almost completely different from the anime, so I doubt anything will be made from it. The only continuation of the anime is in graphic novel format. They made a graphic novel series based off the anime. The last volume takes place after the end of the series. I have yet to read it but from previous experience with post series continuations, I'd wager that its just a fun manga (wouldn't doubt it was hot spring based).

On the issue of the end of the series:

Gonzo has made no announcements about production and are currently involved in other projects.

I proformed a google search, it yeilded only random forum posts across the net of people asking the same question. *Groan* Yeah, I think this is just a rumor, even if they MIGHT be considdering producing it.

Continues right after the last episode of Second Stage.

Below is just something I thought up...

Vandread: Final Stage

Episode 1 - "Where We Left Off"
Part of the last episode from Second Stage. Goes into what they do after the war.

Episode 2 - "Hot Springs Build Up?"
Plot build up. Hot springs episode.

Episode 3 - "Aliens Attack!"
Another alien race enters the scene.

Episode 4 - "Unity"
Aliens have something in common and work together to find and fight the Earthlings.

(2 part episode or a Movie)
Vandread: Final Stage Movie

Episode 5 - "On The Verge Of..."
Teamwork works! They find the Earthlings.. Only to find...

Episode 6 - "Annihilation"
Conclusion? Something happens?

I wouldn't mind it at all!
But you never know...

Well this is news to me. But I've only heard rumors unfortunitly. If you think about it. Is there anything to be wraped up or can they think of a new idea that will funnel a new story or twist. It seems that the only continums I can think of are the ones that ppl writes in fics.
