Jubei still fights with really messed up looking villians, but I'd be hard pressed to say that the TV series is as nicely stylized and fun to watch as the movie.
If you want a comparison, Ninja Scroll TV seems oddly akin to 80s anime pariah "Golgo 13: The Professional", in that it feels like something cooked up to cater to what the Japanese seem to percieve as "American-tastes" in anime. As such, the creators of the TV series seemed to have focused more on the gore and over kill of the movie than the story, the characters and their typical angst. Thus, with Ninja Scroll TV all you really have to look forward to is the next freak filled fight scene.
If that's all you want out of your anime, you may like this, but I think most will agree that the TV series doesn't do the movie justice.
My recommendation: watch the first episode to sate your curiousity and skip the rest.
