Any thoughts, complaints (which is sort of unlikely).

Well, I for one refuse to buy it. After I completely wasted my money on Death & Rebirth, I'm not about to throw away more of it just to get what probably amounts to only a few minutes of new footage. As much as I love the series, marketing choices like this really piss me off.

First off i'd like to point out how 150min for only $30 is not a bad deal.

Thats not including the fact that it has production images from the Eva
Movie.

I had rips of the directors cut once. Like, not the whole episodes, just the particular scenes that were cut out, raw. REALLY nicely encoded too, 2000kbps. Nothing much new there, really. Cept the scene of Asuka at the train station, and then the rail yard was pretty cool.

I'm gonna pick up fansubbed copies and see if its worth it. If it is then I'll buy, 30 bucks ain't bad. I didn't buy the entire series anyway, so it'll be my first copies of those episodes.

Yeah, I'll pick those up! The only reason I haven't got NGE on DVD is I was waiting for these.
Insert meaningful line here, 'cos I can't think of anything.

I've seen all the scenes (since my friend subbed it and used LDs with all the footage already in) and it does add a bit in the story. In particular, the scene where Kaworu is talking to SEELE.

My advice?

Wait for the Renewal. This is just another ploy to make (even more) money. They're gonna screw you again when they release the renewal. I hear the only problem right now is that ADV owns the rights to the show and Manga owns the rights to the Movies and thus it's hard to consolidate it into one Renewal boxset like Japan.

Yeah imma ask around to see if its really worth it, i might just wait till the renewal comes out so that i could save some money, besides the whole series boxset is worth over 150 dollars, thats a lot for a guy that doesnt work, then if i get that and the directors cut and then the renewal, thats just a great waste of money...so i wait................ .........and wait........ :?

I'd copy a conversation I had with Vic here, but the basic point he made was that ADV is never gonna release Renewal here.

As a fan of the series, I've long accepted that the Evangelion franchise will have taken at least $1,000 of mine by the time they're through. But, since I love it so much, it's my cross to bear.
