FF:U & Your Thoughts

Post by B3 » Wed Oct 29, 2003 4:15 am

Final Fantasy Unlimited, from Gonzo Studios and Square/Enix entertainment has just been released over here by ADV films. What this thread is asking, is what do you all think of FF:U? Me personally, I am a big fan of this series. It started off really slow in the beginning but by episode 4 the show had me hooked. Sure it has rehashed footage, but I think that was to give it an oldschool feel, and besides that, the rehashing in here isn't nearly as bad as Sailor Moon. But you can look at this show and wonder why it isn't as good as Square's other show E's Otherwise. But FF:U has one of the most coolest and memorable Final Fantasy hero's of all time, Kuroki Kaze. Now I'm just pretty much asking this to see everyone else's view on the show. And to see if there are any other FF:U fanboys like me here as well. And to let you all know how much I love this series, I went as far as going to Otakon to get the FF:U After book (the only one that they had I might add ) which I can't even read yet, and the cards for the card game. (man i'm a loser  ) Anywho, I'm just seein' what everyone else thinks of this show. And don't worry if you don't like it, it won't bother me none, cause everyone has their opinion...
I guess I should say something witty here right...? Too bad... :P

8)

I liked the good guy characters. Most of the bad guys were laughable to me. I liked the one girl with the umbrella. The fish guy and the guy with the pipe were a joke.

Loved the Chocobo and the Wolf Girl.

It wasnt the best anime I have seen but it was very entertaining.

I'll agree with you with that. Too bad the series was cut short. I would love to see episodes that dealt with a Dragoon knight or a blue mage.

A dragoon and blue mage?! Thats exactly what I would've like to have seen. Cause they already had a gunman/summoner, a geo mancer, a swordsman/summoner, a scholar, and a berserker. All they would've needed after that would've been all the mage classes (black, white, red, and blue) and then a dragoon and we've would've been set. But from what it looks like in FF:U After, a man in suit, who I'm guessing was the man who hired Lisa to find the Hayakawas, is some sort of mage who uses cards for his magic. Cause the cards have the FF:U font on them, and in the book it shows him and Kaze in showdowns at least twice. But yeah, it is a shame that the show was cancelled. Right now it's one of my fav shows. And the only reason why it is, is because it takes me back to when things were alittle simpler. Back when everything didn't have to be like Cowboy Bebop or Trigun or Evangelion. FF:U is just simple oldschool anime with a new twist. Not to say that I'm bashing anything like the three shows metioned, cause right now the show Gungrave is already becoming one of my favorites (which I can't wait for Pioneer to bring over)...
