Sword licking?
okay i was watching an ep of kenshin the other day and one of the the guys i think it was cho. and he after he took out his sword he licked the blade. i've seen others do this too. is there some reason they do that? are they not worried about cutting of their tounges?
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

It's an intimidation thing. Makes your opponent think you're a blood-drinking psycho who can't wait to kill them, since you're savoring the last traces of flesh from the last person you cut up.
You generally lick along the flat of the blade, not along the cutting edge. So there's no chance of inadvertent self-mutilation.
Not like I've ever done this or anything....I generally have to just draw and go to guard to make the fight stop.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Since swords are ususlly oiled, wouldn't that taste awful? Hehe that wouls make a nice comic moment in a fighting anime: newbie swordsman is trying to act all buff, licks his sword... then gags and spits and yells "Ewwww!" His opponent laughs his ass off, then demonstrates with his own sword, "That's why I use cherry-flavored lubricant!" Lick "Mmmmm!" An the noob makes a horrible face and says "Hentai!"
