Samurai

Post by El Banana » Tue Aug 26, 2003 4:13 pm

'ello people.

Anyway, I'm pretty much out of ideas as to what to watch next. So my question is: What Samurai/Ninja/Combat/Martial-Arts/Swordplay/sorta anime do you reccomend?

Not Kenshin though. Already seen it. :?
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

Hey,

I'm currently watching Jubei-chan the Ninja Girl, pretty amusing so far.

Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran. Has hokey 70s music, to boot.

I suppose a link would be useful, too.

Too bad it's called "Rurouni Kenshin."

I would personally like to seek out and assasinate the marketer who decided that Samurai X was a good name. I mean, to Kenshin?
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Though not really a "Samurai" title, I would still have to urge you see Dagger of Kamui. An epic story that even has our character hit California (and runs into Mark Twain!). The events around the character (power struggles in Japan) are based on historical events, but obviously the events around our character are fictional... especially since he's being persued by ninjas with supernatural powers.

One of my all time favorite animes is The Hakkenden. I have spent many hours discussing this series with friends and people who are interested on message boards. The animation is low budget... and in one episode, the animation is so bad it causes internal bleeding... however... I often use the Hakkended as my example when I say that I would rather have a badly animated well written story then a well animated feature with a crappy story.

Those are the two off the top of my head.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

"X" is "X-treme"!

Remember that.
