what is his name or what he is, is it Dampel or Vampel or what i just watched the movie and the part were they say it in the dub and im 98% sure they say Dampel but the dub is bad so im not sure if someone has the subed version please watch it and tell me what they call him, im so confused

in the instructions manual for the playstation game it says dunpeal, and that seems how its pronoucned in VHD: Bloodlust

yea thats what i though i misspeld it sorry and i knew his name was D but some ppl keep saying its dungpel or however u spell it so just for the sake of not haveing a big argument i said name/what he is thank u very much u cleard up alot of confusion o and could u post a pic of the game manual or something i want to prove to my friend how big of a moran he is

D is feared throughout the land as the greatest vampire hunter who ever lived. He is the direct son of the great Vampire King, Count Dracula, and so possesses great vampiric powers. His mother was human so he is known as a "Dunpeal" (a half-breed). D's age is never revealed but he must be thousands of years old - Dunpeal's never age.

Actually the whole thing started with a big mis-translation way back in the 1980's. Originally the name for a half breed was supposed to be a bastardization of the word Vampyre, pronounced french style as "Vampier". Since the letter V is not in the Japanese language (officially anyways), and the L and the R are one sound, it was mispronounced as "Danpiel", and it stuck.
