all right there are two characters out there animated style named jim hawkings. one is from Outlaw Star and the other is from Treasure Planet. to me i think disney copied off Outlaw Star a bit. but if those two characters had to fight for that name who would win. my bet goes on Jim from Outlaw Star he knows how to fight and use a gun. as for the other guy i do not know and dont really care.

the jim hawkings from treasure planet movie was based off the jim hawkings from the book"treasure island" which came long before the who made outlaw star was even born, know your shit man.

Yes outlaw star is based on Treasure island and yes disney did do another rip on the idea. Outlaw star at least could be called a Unique interpertation of Treasure island.

Hmm, Gene Starwind doesn't really seem like the Long John Silver type, but it makes sense otherwise so I'll take your word on it.

I also recall a distinct lack of Taoist magic in Treasure Island....
