Evangelion Movie

Post by Jim Hawkings21122 » Mon Jul 28, 2003 11:05 pm

Recently it was mentioned it a Newtype magazine that there was some very serious talks going down involving an Evangelion live action movie. Those who have read this article know that there where some very tantalizing artwork skeches of the movie so my questions are this:

1: "Based on those pictures and rumors of the live action movie what do you think the movie would turn out like."
(hopefully not like the godawful dbz live actions)

2:"do you think it would turn out well even if the entire original crew from eva gathered for it and Hideaki Anno wrote the script himself."
Base your response on the assumption that they would have unlimited funds and a large supply of time.

there were sum pretty nice threads about this topic...probably still around if u go to the second or third page of general anime topics

just so u know, Hideaki Anno will not be having his touch in this piece, although he could, but he's looking into live-action endeavors at this point

i saw that Newtype article u mentioned, it was pretty general about the actual plot of it since they are still in the planning process but they gave sum details on the people involved
Weta Workshop is definately a good company to have working on the special-effects of this movie, especially if they had (like u said) an unlimited amount of money, i would look foward to mega mecha action!!

also it's been announced that the setting will be changed from Tokyo 3 to San Francisco 3, i know it seems drastic, but really come on..how much can change, it's not like it being tokyo had much to do wit the actual story, it can all be transformed over to america, i just hope that americans don't start thinking this is an original american anime (credit should be given where credit is due)

i am worried how this will be recieved by the general public as it is one of my favorite series, but i just finished watching Vanilla Sky and i noticed that it was kinda similar in the sense that reality is chosen over a false happiness, so that gives me hope

overall, i'm excited about this, am i will go see the movie no matter how long it is (and it'd better be long) and no matter how much the ticket costs (as long as it costs regular price)

...there was only one live action, and it was a tribute to dragonball, but yes it was craptastic, have u seen it?

but as for the dbz animated movies, i think ppl generally like better than the series because they can't complain about the fights being so long and drawn out because in the movies, the final fights are generally over in less than 3 moves, plus the animation is much better in the later movies
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D
