LIVE ACTION MOVIE
NEWS- UNCONFIRMED
posted on 2003-05-15 14:21:46
source: Saiyanz Rage
According to Saiyanz Rage, a source within 20th Century Fox has posted the following:
FOX is shooting for a PG-13 rating and a running time of somewhere between 3 to 4 hours. They are hoping for the DBZ movie saga to be 4 episodes long (4 movies). Starting in The Saiyan Saga, The Frieza Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga.
George Lucas' CGI company ILM has signed a contract to do the special effects. Some sad news, due to casting and scheduling difficulties, filming that was set to begin real soon has been put off until Summer 2004. The original Release Date. Once the movie is finished filming and all post-production effects are added in, this movie may not be out until well into 2005.
As of right now there is no definite title. The most obvious choice would be plain "DragonBall Z", but FOX is also leaning toward "DragonBall Z: Unlimited" or "DragonBall Z: Fight For Man Kind."
None of this information is confirmed.

i don't think it's B-S at all, i think it's a real plan, movie really being made
but the fact that's it's started doesn't mean they'll finish it, they might come upon sum information that leads them to believe that it won't sell tickets and they might back out, but i hope not, but i do hope that they don't make it 4 movies (one per series) because
1. that is doing exactly what killed dbz, dragging it on
2. that means they are just going to be copying the series, as is, which is not cool at all
they should do sumtin that hasn't been done before, like maybe make a movie where vegeta saves the day or sumtin for once, they could show goku/trunks already being super saiyan and have vegeta turn super saiyan and save the day, and if they wanted, have a sequel where vegeta kills goku, both being ssj2's, but no further!!!
i'm not sure if i'm happy with Lucas doing the special effects, i think it will stay with that childish feel to dbz which it is not a child's anime...graphically speaking, but on the other hand, that would be the dbz style, violence that looks kidish but violent at the same time
i just hope this goes no further than 3 movies! even me, a diehard fan of dbz would probably not go watch 4 of them, 3's my limit...i'll rent the 4th
