Very nice, even though that "Birth of Ryoko" image is overused frequently. (And it's the topic of a lot of debate since many English speaking fans are just now getting into the Tenchi BG story. The big question is "Which Ryoko is that?"

Yeah, Ryoko was created by Washu. According to the Tenchi novels written by Masaki Kajishima, the Ryoko we know is actually (And correct me if I am remembering this wrong) the third one that was made. If I remember correctly, the first one or the second one changed its gender and became Kagato, and the other of the first two I believe died. I need to re-read those novels...

In any case, the original purpose of Washu's experiments there were to create a clone of her best friend, Akara Naja, who had died. This is why, if you see pictures of Naja, she looks a lot like a female Kagato. Why Ryoko didn't end up looking like Naja, though, I can't remember. Like I said, I need to re-read that stuff.
