Suggest me some good titles...

My friend and I r going to buy some romance & mecha anime. At the moment we have:

Ai Yori Aoshi -- Pretty much like Love Hina, only a lot better.
Macross Zero #1 -- Great battle scenes, very nice story & artwork.
Ayashi No Ceres
VGAi

What others would you guys recommend? I also appreciate some links to good review sites.

I've seen macross 2. It's horrible.
Escaflowne is more a fantasy than romance.

FLCL ... not very big on the romance or the mecha ... but it's good none the less ... well actualy its a comedy that happens to have mechas in it ... just watch it ...

Love hina is great for the romance comedy part ...

Kare kano is ok for romance and an every day drama ... but it's not for every one ... i suggest you watch some of it fansubbed and decide if you really want it ...

I think you mean bootlegged. Fansubs are not a replacement for the real thing.

Ah, Kare Kano.. how could I forget it.. thx.

I don't dowload/collect much fansubs mainly because it's time consuming, therefore expensive. Also, the subtitles can be very distracting.

... sure, i was suggesting that ek1 downloaded a few eps and decide whether it was for him/her before buying it. But apparantly ek1 has already seen some of it and likes it. but please ... lets not start a big debate about fansubs and boot legs ...

http://www.theanimereview.com is also a good place to search for a lotta reviews. But the problem is that it's written by only one person whose opinions are biased sometimes. It might be of some use to you, who knows..

If you like Macross Zero, I recommend checkin out Macross Plus. The characters are really down-to-earth a lotta the times, and there's some romantic conflicts thrown in too. But after watching it so many times it gets kinda boring.. It's a good choice though.
