While I have only seen the first half of the series, I like it more then the movie. The series has a better story and character development. The movie on the other hand has more action, a darker mood and is only 1 DVD as opposed to the 8 for the series

If you got the money, the entire TV series (8 discs). It is by far my favorite anime of all time. It's got action, mecha, fantasy (D&D stuff), romance, comedy, etc.

Of course subbed, not that crappy Fox kids dub :-P.

trigun (you get to mortgage you haouse for that one)

hellsing

Evangelion (if you feel like thinking)

Slayers (never seen the series, but i've seen a few AMv's wiht it, and it's interesting, lots of action)

FLCL (if you want strange action/comedy)

Cowboy beebob is supposed to be very good too, but i've never seen it either so i'm not sure if it's an action or what ... but from what i've read about it it sounds good.
