Spirited Away actually won the Oscar, I'm sure about everyone already knows that, but... IT WON! Even my parents doubted it.

i guess i should have wrote Spirited Away for nomination in my subject line rather than "well here's hoping".
but yeah, IT WON!!!
really sucky part was that no one at all was there to accept it. Cameron Diaz had to for the academy. no Mr. Miyazaki, no one from Studio Ghibli, no even a Disney or Pixar rep. how stupid.....
