Continuation series like Naruto, Fairy Tail, and World Trigger are excluded from our picks. But since Durarara had a long break in between its 2 seasons and added X2 to it's name, I considered it a new series just like I did for Psycho Pass 2.Jasta85 wrote:When you pick series, do you include continuation series or only series that started that season? would have flipped a table if one punch man was not on that list, definitely the most stand out series of the season, and a top contender for the year. Mad House pulled no punches (no pun intended).
Other than that I didn't really have strong feelings about any of the other series, some of them were fun to watch but nothing really mind blowing.

That would have been my number 4. If my top 3 weren't so consistently good every single episode, Maid Dragon would have definitely made the cut. It pretty much just came down to me wanting a little more from the ending and feeling that the final resolution was a bit anticlimactic. It feels like there should have been one more episode, but I'm guessing that there will probably be a OVA.Jasta85 wrote:Wut??? No maid dragon? sir, we must now fight a duel.

the thing about maid dragon is it doesn't have an overarching story (at least in the manga) it's all about a bunch of characters who have basically been alone for most of their lives learning what it's like to have close friends and family. The part with Tohru's father is actually much more down played in the manga, they don't have a big boss fight, he just shows up, see's that she's changed and then leaves. While there are definitely real life issues that are addressed in the series it's not meant to be super serious or dramatic, just lots of adorable feels, which is why so many people like it. Most of the author's works are similar in that aspect. We don't need Re: Zero or Erased levels of drama and salt in every series.
