Noir Volume 1 dubbed

Okay, I began watching the Domestic DVD in dubbed English. I was slightly dissapointed that the voice actor who was picked to be Mireille, Shelly Calene-Black didn't try to do a French or even an European accent. But what she lacked in accent, she pretty much made up for it in emotion. And she does sound refined, even if it's more of a refined American voice instead of a refined European voice.

Monica Rial, the voice actress who does kirika on the other hand is great. I'm almost postively sure that she's the same voice actress who did Hyatt from Excel Saga. Her soft spoken voice acting style works excellently as kirika. Although at one point, I almost expected kirika to fall over and die suddenly a la Hyatt style.

The best part of getting the DVD, however is hearing the music and sounds of NOIR in 48000 khz. It also makes you aware just how very little talking there is in the first episode.

Anyway overall, I enjoyed NOIR's dubbed version. It's not perfect, but it is definately watchable/passable.

I just picked this up today as well. I've only had a chance to watch the first half of the first episode. I think it sounds great so far. Sure, there's the matter about Mireille not having an accent, but at least it's not a forced horrible accent (a la Love Hina dubbed). I think, from what I've heard, it's one of the better dubs I've heard. I usually watch anime in Japanese with the subs, especially if I originally saw the fansubs. I've never seen Noir before, so I'll probably watch each episode twice while going through the series, one dubbed and one subbed.

.. It has yet to be relesed here... But I am oh, so looking foward to seeing it after watching the japanese version from a friend...

Speaking of things comming in Drasticly late (I just got the hellsing 4th disc and love hina 6th disc) Samuria Bout High school just come out..
Usaully if i by the DVD's before I watch the fansubs i regret it.. But, i don't know where to get this one so is it anyone good?[/quote]
