I dunno....the only way I can see this movie working along with the series is if it focuses on what happened to NERV-02 in Nevada (near the beginning of episode 17)....we'd actually be able to see unit 04 in action if thats the case

That would be interesting, but would it really convey what Evangelion is about?

I always wanted to see what happened to the EVA (was it EVA 03??) that went kaputzki. Weren't they testing an S2 engine or something? Booo. And Asuka was either born in America or she moved to America later, cuz she spoke English and was a citizen of both the US and Germany. I know she went to college in Germany. Wow, trilangual.

Hey, didn't they make a model of EVA 03?? Kaiyodo, I mean. I think it was silver!
The Magnificent Seven [Britt has just shot a fleeing bandit off his horse.]
Chico: That was the greatest shot I've ever seen.
Britt: The worst! I was aiming at the horse.

most likely not
but they could use a pilot for that eva that is similar to shinji
but a lot more bright so that he could come to conclusions quicker than shinji lol

lol, Oboe, u beat me in posting, well my post was supposed to be before yours to make any sense, but that okay, this post explains that
"most likely not" - refering to if using a movie about the accident in the states would convey the theme of eva

a) The Eva that exploded in Nevada during S2 engine testing was Unit 04, not 03. Unit 03 was black and piloted by Toji Suzuhara.

b) Asuka speaks one word of English: "Hello." This is trumped by Maya, who knows how to say "bordahline cleah," and Misato and Shinji, who know how to say "You ah numbah one!"

so if they do use the story line of eva unit 04 (nevada mistake)
then they wouldn't be able to include any angels attacking, unless they used another angel that was horribly off target lol
