Actually, for a long time i was happy that the final fantasy series never did sequils(spell check) even though the end of a game leaves u wanting more. that style of storytelling is why so many Fanboys call out for more even about ten years later. What they forgot is that a good story is supposed to leave you wanting it to continue, and it should be that way. FFX-2 broke my heart (i haven't played it) because the end of FFX was perfect for that story, but this is not my story.
when they came out with the spirits within i was so happy that they followed the same formula as the games, it was totally origional and oh-so-beautiful to look at. before i saw it i was worried that it might have nothing to do with the world of final fantasy, chocobos and magic aside, i was wrong. Yay!
That said, this movie was really good, but the simple expansion of a former storyline made it too predictable. Still, it's great to see the places and hear the music that made me fall in love with FF in the first place shown again in all the glory that is now possable.I love the CG work that Square Enix does. It's the best work, graphicly, that I have ever seen.
