Look, the dubs may be good, and the dubs may be bad. Who knows? All I know is that Naruto is unbelievably popular even though it just got liscenced several days ago.
Given Naruto's popularity, voice actors will practically be waiting at ShoPro's doorstep when auditions are held. There's bound to be some good one out there, it's just up to the director to decide who's in and who's out.
However, I think that the main reason ShoPro purchased Naruto is because of the money its popularity is garunteed to bring them. They should realize how delicate this series is and how easily ruined it can be.
But, like I said before, for the people who love the Japanese seiyuu, their love for Naruto shouldn't be changed by the English dubs that they won't even watch. For those who couldn't watch the original version for whatever reason, the dub is all they have in order to see what all the fuss is about. So, since having dubs won't lose the sub-lovers, and it'll draw in non-otaku, having dubs is a win-win situation either way. If sub-loving people give up on an anime just because it got liscenced, I don't think they're all too passionate about the series anyway.
Personally, I'm curious about how the dubs will turn out. Even if they are horrible, just a click of a remote button and I can listen to the DVD's Japanese track. I know I'm going to buy the DVD's because I desperately wish to see my favorite Naruto characters on the big screen rather than fansubs on a crappy laptop!

So Sho-pro has it? Whew! What a relief! Ever since all the rumors started flyin around about who would get Naruto, I knew which companies I did NOT want to get Naruto. Don't get me wrong! I like subs, but from time to time I'll watch dubs if I feel like it. Eva dubs were good, Inuyasha was ok, Trigun was good. There's just a few good dubs, the rest, well, people just didn't get it right, ya know? Guess I can tell my friend that said 4kids had Naruto that he's mistaken.

To me its not so much of how they wil edit it because the naruto anime isn't very bloody. And it not so much as the dubbing even though there have been horrible mistakes in the past like Frieza's voice in dbz.Its more of what they did to DBZ on how they changed what they say.Thats the worst part is them changing the dialogue.
Also I would like this topic to be locked because i'm sick of it.
