I think that number is a bit high, unless of course, you kept an accurate tally of how much money you spent (since you were twelve) that was yours and not your parents . . . or perhaps you didn't go to school, and got your employers to ignore child labor laws . . .Matticans wrote:Not really. I am kind of surprised though. Because I too am nineteen, have had a few jobs here and there, I have a car, and I have still spent over 15,000 on anime, yet you guys don't have cars and have only spent around 2,000. I have been collecting for about 7 years now though, so that might make a difference.

No, it is around 15,000. Yes I have been collecting for 7 years. And when I said I worked, I didn't mean when I was twelve. I didn't start working until I was 16, and back then I only worked durring the whole summer getting $10 an hour. I still do this over the summer, but now I also have another job that I work regularly durring the school year. Also, when I was younger is not when I bought a lot of the anime that I have. Back then I was lucky if I had enough money to buy 1 or 2 vhs a month. I guess when I say I have a car, it is a little missleading. Yes I do have a car, but I only have to pay my parents $50 dollars a month and they pay all the rest for everything: insurance, gas, etc. These days when I get a paycheck I deposit a little, but I spend the majority on anime. So when I say around 15,000 I am being serious. Now I can say that if I knew about deepdiscountdvd back then and didn't spend all my money at suncoast, It would be little lower. Oh and when I say 15,000 on anime. That means movies, manga, models, conventions, and pretty much anything like that.Tsunami Jones wrote:I think that number is a bit high, unless of course, you kept an accurate tally of how much money you spent (since you were twelve) that was yours and not your parents . . . or perhaps you didn't go to school, and got your employers to ignore child labor laws . . .Matticans wrote:Not really. Sorry about me going on like this, but I just wanted to tell you that I was being serious.

Ah, ok. Do to my narrow mindedness, for some reason I just automatically assumed DVDs, and nothing elseMatticans wrote:Oh and when I say 15,000 on anime. That means movies, manga, models, conventions, and pretty much anything like that.

But you have to keep in mind, not everyone's parents can afford to supply a car for their children, so don't be surprised to much about that. Insurance (especially if you're in a state that makes you have to have it by law), is very expensive.

I'm not so obsessed with money really, so I have about 2 and 1/2 from the new list. I'm positive ive spent over 1000 on anime, and at least that much on Manga, an I always save my reciepts for about 3 months. I'm going to look for a job soon (probably Walmart). And I have a very good idea on how much evbery anime purchase I made cost.

Well I hope this isn't too bad but as far as I can tell there can never be a person too obsessed with anime. I have 14 from the first and 19 from the second
so that takes me to 33. That's not so bad but then you have to consider that I'm probably younger than most the people on this site. What we should really do is see how many symptoms you have in accordance with your age to determine who's in the lead.....Ah no, nevermind. Most people will just lie about their age. As for the conversation that's just arisen (although off-topic) I can't say I've even spent 1,500 on anime mostly I just borrow and admire. Oh that's another good symptom:
-If you spend hours in the store looking at anime and manga, drooling, hoping someone will come along and give you money because they feel sorry for you. But you end up leaving with absolutely nothing.
-Oh! (and this only applies to a few people) if your school/college doesn't have an anime club (too small or something) and you go to the superintendent and demand a club
If you guys want to count those last two that would bring me up to 35.
(I got in serious trouble over the superintendent thing.)

YAY!! MORE SYMPTOMS FOR ME!!!
Now I'm up to 40! (excluding half trues/maybes)
......
HELP, MY SHIFT KEY IS STUCK!! wait, no it isn't.
Now I'm up to 40! (excluding half trues/maybes)
But you don't seem to realize, the two most obsessed people here are me (16) and Zephyrias (who I'll assume, being a freshman, is 14/15)

Well I would have quite a few more, but it's hard to come by money when it's illegal to employ a 14 year old and your parents never give you money, but always wonder why you don't have any. Then they tell you to go out and mow neighbor's lawns but it's the middle of the winter and all the ground is covered in snow. That'd make a good symptom too, but I'm not going to say that I really mow lawns in the middle of winter when it's covered in snow just to get money...... It's more like late winter and there's no snow. But the temperature's still a cold CHIKUSHOUME! (reference to my japanese. For those of you who don't know what that means, I'm sure you can figure it out if you use your brains) Anyway I'm going to shut up now because I keep coming up with new symptoms and in truth I'm just ranting on. I guess I'm being a sore loser.
I just thought of another one but I'm going....to.....resist.....the....
anotther one. Wow I guess it is possible to OD on anime. I think I'm doing it right now. If that's the case that means I've got 36 and I should probably SHUT UP!!!! Oh god I can't stop myself. I'll just let my fingers type what they need to. I've re-read this post for gramatical errors and I realize I can't understand it all and that scares me a little and living in a anime hating household, all of you who know me outside this site. DO NOT TELL MY PARENTS what happened.
Dang it I just thought of another one. URRRRGGG!!!
I've got to go lie down.
