A few weeks ago I was looking for one of my friends and when I walked into the classroom he was hanging out in I saw that he was watching HELLSING on his portable DVD player. In school. In a classroom. While the teacher was chilling a few feet away.

It was funny.

If that isn't fearless anime pride, I don't know what is.
Almost everyday I bring an anime DVD to my IT12 class. (Usually AMV ones, but lately it's been Hellsing - ironicly enough)

Volume is up - no headphones - and the vid minimized in the top left corner of my screen. I'm also posting up here during class too. I wonder if that's a little much :P

"Man is the only animal that blushes. Or has any reason to." - I forget who said that.

It's funny, though. As much as we say we're not embarassed by stuff, it's impossible not to be at some point. It's just natural, folks.

On topic- I'd think it depends on your environment. Where you live. The more people around you that like anime, the less you have to be embarassed about. And where you live, when you're at a young age, is usually luck of the draw. So whether you have anything to be embarassed about is simply luck of the draw.

Also, the older you get, the more people become mature about this sort of thing (in general). That doesn't help now, yeah, but take heart in knowing that in time, there'll be less and less reason to be embarassed about anime.

Anime doesn't embarass me. In fact, I went out and got all my friends into it

Same, I got alot of my friends into it as well.

I don't think anyone really has had a problem with anything I'm into. i know alot of people classify people who watch anime as those closet nerds that never see the sun and never go anywhere with anyone or ever have any sort of fun in their life outside of the geeky things they like.

However I'm always out and about, going off doing things, running into people, lots of shit so I guess no one really stereotypes me because of my interests.

I mean, you're always gonna get someone saying something like, "You're into that shit man, lol you're so gay" and then you both have a laugh and move on in life.

I think it's the people that let simple things like that get to them that get "cast aside" we'll say.

The suffix "hime" means princess, I believe. I couldn't be a guy, lol. Well, I could, but that'd be really weird.

I got a few of my friends into it...I introduced a friend to Weiss Kreuz and Witch Hunter Robin, which she liked, and I'm gonna show her Gunslinger Girl next.

Getting friends into anime over here is a challenge for me because of the local culture (Or rather, anti-culture) around here. I sort of envy those who have friends that are into it...::Shrugs:: Oh well!
You're lucky... I've decided to let you live to see the day when I will rule the world.

Well I'm lucky, if I haven't already converted friends into anime lovers (generally I can find a show that will appeal to certain people), the others are tolerant of it. *shrugs*

The people that matter to me don't make a fuss about it if they don't like it.
