Well it's certainly in the ADV DVD catalogue. (The one with the multiple Nagas and two other Slayers offerings were listed) Maybe they bought the rights from USMC or something.DJ_Izumi wrote:The USMC did Slayers. :\ Didn't ADV just do the movie?azulmagia wrote: like Slayers

Well, you believe right, to a certain extent. But personally, I thought Haruko's English dub voice actor did a pretty good job. Perhaps not as good as Kamon's or Amarao's or even Naota's, but still pretty good.Oboe wrote:It's rather pathetic when comparing the original emotion compared to the dubbing. And my FAVORITE example is FLCL. Haruko's original voice is the most fantastic voice acting . . . like, ever. I believe they made that character just for her. And when I hear the dub . . . ugh. She makes Haruko sound WAY too young and sweet, extremely flat, dull, and WHINEY! You just gotta go with the scratchy, odd, beautifully spoken voice of the original Haruko.
(Yes, I love FLCL, and I think the dub is generally great. So sue me.)

Well where are you shopping???!!!!?? I go to Music World (Which sells a lot of anime), Future shop, Game zilla (Local anime video game retailer), and EB, I have never found an ADV DVD cheaper then $40 at all those locations (And trust me, they are the only places that sell em' here, cept' for video store that may have some used ones for save). I live waaaay over in atlantic canada, maybe you "Capital province" people get them cheaper then us, but anime is waaay expensive over here. The only cheap DVDs I have ever found are Manga ent (And only when it's a movie, not series), and (1) Tokyo Pop dvd (Was miss marked, was suposed to be $30 but they let pay $20 for it since they had made a mistake).Moonlight Soldier wrote: Someone said ADV in Canada costs like $40
Where are you shopping???!!!!?? ADV goes for like $25, It's the cheapest one around. Pioneer is normally the most expensive, ranging from 40-50...with Manga Corps and others somewhere in between.

So brothers and sisters, don't BUY anime, download it for free. Cus' even if the anime industry falls here, there will always be fan subs!
Oh, while I'm here. ADV is only releasing the Live action eva, they are not the ones making it. For one thing the movie cost close to $100,000,000 to make, and for another, it was released in Japan first, with an international cast. ADV woulden't have had the moolah to make dat'. If ya don't belive me, look in the (I think it's) june issue of Anime Insider.

The Slayers TV series was done in North America by Software Sculptors, which is a part of Central Park Media.Garylisk wrote:The Slayers movies and OVAs are done by ADV. The slayers TV series is done by Media Blasters, I think. Too lazy to check my DVDs.
