What animes have been dubbed poorly?

In the Streamline version we had kin-NAY-da.

And don't get me started on all the crappy dubs that butcher the pronunciation of "Ryu".

I don't know about anyone else but I originally got into anime through the dubs (since they are more acessible on TV etc) and then I progressed onto the subs. Now you'd be hard pressed to get me back on dubs since generally there is just so much more depth in subs. I like finding out about jokes that closely relate to the japanease culture. It makes things more interesting.

Still dubs have their good points even if its only to get more people involved in anime.

Although I think nearly all the dubs I've seen were atrocious

Kenshin (it was all kinds of wrong - it's set in the meiji era for heaven's sake)

One that wasn't too bad was CCS but that's going purely on the voices not content. I understand they cut some interesting stuff out but I only saw the first half dubbed and the second half subbed.
Also Lodoss War was okay but again english suited the setting (knights of olde and all that)

Lots of people player hate DBZ to much.

After watching it subbed and dubbed I would go dubbed. The acting is good for both but Piccolo sounds much cooler dubbed. 8)

and i want to too (well the whole english dub shit is kinda a downside to it) ... thats another series thats on my shopping list ...i wonder if theres a complete box set available for it ... there probalby is ... i'll find it eventualy.

I personally thought that the Crest of the Stars dub was godawful after seeing it during it's brief stint on Tech TV.

Ranma's dub didn't begin to suck, in my humble opinon, until they changed Ramna's voice actor. Then it went down hill fast.

now thats not right ... you don't change voice actors half way though a production, if you do then you'd have to go back an channge every thing to do it right ...
