The 'TV series' Rurouni Kenshin is based on the manga just as much as the OAVS, fact is the TV series was made BEFORE the Oavs, there for they didnt "Take a perfectly good OVA and F*cked it up with cartoony google eyes an unecessary comedy", They made the TV series that showed how a man could live his life without living his past, and then made the OAVS to further tell his past. If all you are looking for in anime is "deadly assasins" and pure action thats all fine and dandy for you, but dont express your opionions of disgust on other forms without knowing your facts. :/
