that'd make a lot of sense.Propyro wrote:i think most beople belive that thats Count Vlad Von Treeps (sp?). AKA Dracula. I think that was his proper name atleast ... and if Alucard actualy was Von treeps then boy was he ever a bastard ...

Vlad von trepes was his nick name ... von trepes means "The impaler" i think his name was something like Vlad Draco, and it some how got changed to Dracula.omniinuyasha85 wrote:I believe that Dracula is based on a real count, Vlad Tepes. He's a sick shit bastard, earning him the name Vlad the Impaler. As the name goes, he gets a kick out of impaling ppl. SOme sources say through the privates...though I'm not sure abt the last part.
Besides Cowboy Bebop, I don't like open endings either...
And he impaled meople in many fashions ... usualy in the front or back of the chest and out the other end, but he also did more ... ie in the ass out the mouth.
THe whole blood sucking thing came from the fact that Vlad had feilds full of steaks with half dead people on them dying and he'd ahvea table set up and he'd start eating his dinner while all these people are on steaks. i think most of his victims were Bavarians or somethign like that. Initialy it had to do with his family being persecuted by the bavarians(i think), then he jsut did it for kicks.
But yes, he was a very cruel person with a creative mind ... came up with all sorts of cool ways to inflict pain whenever he was in the mood (which was almsot all the time.)

From what i gathered Integra's father was Van Hellsing. In the old movie Van could not kill dracula yet he did capture him ( if i remember correctly ) and then died shortly after.
I think that hellsing is taking off from where that left off, intergra finding the imprisoned 'dracula' and becomming his 'master'.
There are a few loopholes but that made the most sense to me.
Btw, Hellsing complete set is out on amazon for anyone who was not already aware, w00t w00t

Okay, to correct a few things here.
1. This is just a guess, but I am fairly sure that Integra's father was Van Hellsing's son, since the Van Hellsing of the Bram Stoker novel was pretty old at that point, and that was in the late 1800's.
2. Most of Vlad's victims were actually Turks. The Ottoman's were invading, so Vlad did the thing any insane ruler would do when faced with that, and began impaling them, burning them alive, and generally anything he could do to make their lives a living hell.
3. Vlad Draco was Vlad Tepes's father. Tepes was not his nickname, that was his actual name.
4. Jesus didn't have a black moustache. Alucard was supposed to look like draculA in that moment. Unless you belong to a REALLY screwed up section of the Christian Church.
There were probably some other fallacies, but that's all I can remember for now. Thanks for your time.

Hmm, the book i read said otherwise. von trepes was added to his name because of his obeseeion of imapling people ... but it's a book, writen by human hands, read by human eyes and stored in a human mind ... all of them could have gone wrong at one point or another ... and the same goes for you.Evil Urchin wrote: 3. I don't think Alucard was in that "dungeon" for more than 50 years, max. I remember hearing something like 20-25 years, but as I said, I need to rewatch it. He also made a comment about fighting Nazi's alongside Walter, the "angel of death".Shun wrote:From what i gathered Integra's father was Van Hellsing.
