Japan does have a great obsession with young girls. the Japanese gov't doesn't seem to have done anything about the current prostitution. i guess it goes with the history.MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:It's not really suprising that they use young people, especially young girls to save the world. I don't think its just Japan that has an obsession with young girls. Probably most countries do, I know that the US has some serious lolita issues that need to be addressed.Lyrs wrote:Japan does have a great obsession with young girls. the Japanese gov't doesn't seem to have done anything about the current prostitution. i guess it goes with the history.MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:It's not really suprising that they use young people, especially young girls to save the world. The difference is that in our shows, most of them don't have super powers and space ships, or jobs protecting us from alien invaders.
I mean, look at the school girl uniform.. hotness. You put a girl in a catholic school girl uniform with a short skirt you get pretty much the same effect (hotness). I have yet to see a catholic school girl leaping from the front of a jet in an attempt to save her classmate from an alien abductor. (project ako) Maybe I've been watching the wrong movies.

I'm just curious why you put Lain on there (I don't know if you saw the bolding on "lain" that I added to the quote). That mystifies me a little- I don't think she fits into the category at all. I'm sure you have your reasons, I just would like to know what they are because I'm confused.yohko wrote:savia do you have a problem with my list???

well as youve noticed the internet world was spilling over into the real world. When lain reset the world this problem was fixed. Though the same thing could have happened again i doubt the internet or wired so to speak would have the same effects on the real world. In my mind the internet would have totally taken over the human race eventually. Just like Lain's sister. So in a way Lain didn't and did save the world at the exact same time. This is my opinion from watching both the english and japanese version of Serial Experiment Lain.

That's an interesting way of looking at Lain; I can see where you're coming from. But as Lain is really an agent of the Wired, whose purpose was originally to cause this Wired/real world crossover, she kinda 'saved' the world from a problem which she created. Interesting theory which I will keep in consideration the next time I watch Lain
