That wsn't depressing ... that was one of the scenes that got me interested in that series ... The depressing part is at the end how naota is sorta abandoned after maimi and haruko leave. I'd have hated to be stuck in that situation, plus your left with Canti around to remind you of all the cool shit that had happened while Haruko was around and the fact that you sorta could have gone with her.
lol I guess you didnt see I was joking around....

dwchang wrote:She died, but as I stated in another thread, she is also within the LCL goo. If you've seen the TV ending with Episode 25 it is made apparent that she is also going through instrumentality (all that self-searching mumbo jumbo). Also, in the movie, a few frames before the explosion, there is an image of Rei over her which implies she is part of the LCL...also I believe in th TV series it shows her clothes on top of the LCL.AtomicWeezleman wrote:argh, to many quotes, any how, yes misato died, if you have the dvd of eoe, pause it just before the explosion, move foward a couple of frames, notice with great interest as one half of misato heads to the left, the other half towards the right...very interesting..yep, i think shes dead........
Not exactly. The reason Rei fell apart is because Shinji chose to reject instrumentatlity (for all of mankind). I know that each of us has our own choice to come back, but Shinji was still the one in charge (as stated by Fuyutsuki). He rejected an ABSOLUTE instrumentality (where we would have no choice) and instead we leaked out of her neck and back into the ocean. In these circumstances, we could choose to come back in physical form (like Shinji did) or stay within the LCL. This is the reason Rei's head popped off...to release the LCL and in essense us.AtomicWeezleman wrote:With rei, there was a hell of a lot of symbolism, the whole face falling in half thing, in the story of lilith, she fell in half or something like that, anyhow, rei just ceased to exist.
Totally stealing from the Pen-Pen Pen my friend and I's website about the truth about Pen^2AtomicWeezleman wrote:but the real question is,, what happened to pen pen? did his at field survive..actualy, i think he was responsible for everything..hmm. yep, blame it on the penguin....oh, worked out gendos last words to ritsuko......'i like pie!' >bang<
But in eoe, when you saw rei split in half and you saw the fifth child, the dude said," is this better.." Someone had told me that the fifth child was like one of the only ones who expressed love towards Shinji. I really don't understand but I think that was a little weird when the fifth child told Shinji that he "loved" him.

Re: NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo *Spoilers*
I honestly think the question of "is this better" is a rhetorical question from the creator himself. The idea of living in a fantasy perfect world is great, but it's like...well...the Matrix...it's not real. Shinji chose to live in the harsh reality of our world and although we can hurt each other (AT fields...Hedgehog's Dilemna), it is better.GoldenGundam wrote: But in eoe, when you saw rei split in half and you saw the fifth child, the dude said," is this better.." He (as well as everyone else who decides to come back) comes out with a better understanding of himself and in turn, I imagine it'll reflect in his life. Since everyone is going through that "soul-searching" (as seen in Episodes 25/26), I'd imagine all the people who decide to come back, come back with that knowledge which in turn helps them live their lives better...not afraid of being hurt, opening up and so on (the point of Instrumentality/Third Impact).
As for Kaworu loving Shinji..yes he did love Shinji. Not in a romantic (and this case homosexual) love that everyone seems to fear (and yaoi fangirls draw pictures about). He loved Shinji as a human being..he cared about him.kind of like a true friend. You must realize that Kaworu isn't human and therefore doesn't love him in that romantic sense. He loved Shinji for who he was and accepted him. This is why it was so tragic for Shinji (why he's so f'ed up during the movie). He had to kill the first person to truly accept him and love him (or so he thought...obviously he realizes otherwise through Instrumentality). Make sense?

Re: NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo *Spoilers*
Forgot to mention, this is the reason Kaworu decides to not destroy mankind (through third impact) and let's Shinji kill him. He would rather have Shinji and his species live on...this is *only* because of what Shinji taught him...I'm sure if Shinji were not there, Kaworu would have re-united with Adam and destroyed us all. He was obviously capable of it.dwchang wrote:[As for Kaworu loving Shinji..yes he did love Shinji. no, i think i jsut missed a bunch of shit, plus i watched EoE once about 2 months ago, since then i've watched several more series. Plus i'd ahve to be told about all these special details and watch the movie again looking for them. yea, i don't quite grasp the deeper meanings of literature or art, i try to but it keeps eluding me ...SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:Did you actually WATCH EoE?? It sounds to me like you paid a grand total of 0% attention to it.

yeah, kaworu was in fact the only person in the whole series to express any affection for him...or something like that...totaly agree with above statement, if shinji hadnt existed, kaworu wouldave united with adam..but he would have to go get gendo for that (remember, adam is reduced to an embrionic state, and is in gendos hand.
please mister ikari, can i see adam?)
