nope. People never can, thats one of the reasons that anime is as popular as it is. you get things that you can never do in real life, you can exadurate expressions and twist reality in ways that you just cant (or shouldn't) in real life. I personaly think that live action movies of anime are just wrong, people will never be as good as the character, it dosn't matter how hard they try. plus this is going to be hollywood, they have to screw up ... its almost a law. well thats my underinformed, overly biased, bitter, one sided 2 cents.... hope you enjoyed it.PyrotheUnforgiven wrote:I feel that having a live action anime show is horrible becuase it can never live up to the actual show's potential...

your text hurts to read....
That and the whole DBZ live action will never happen in the near future I hope, I can't imagin how it could sell. Anyone who'd consider the idea would be down right insane to try to make a movie out of an already outragiously bad series, only made popular by Toonami and NewYourTimes for calling it the best action cartoon ever (jackasses).

[my 2.5 cents]
there is (or was) a magazine dedicated to DBZ that in one of their issues brought the subject of a live dbz movie up
it was released in Oct. of '02 and the article was entitled: "DBZ goes Hollywood! Casting Call: THe Votes are in!"
these were fanvotes, but someone did already said it, i just wanted to re-enforce it
They did make mention of a LOT of fan-choices for characters, some of them were as follows in this website (if it is still up, it was on the back of the magazine)
http://www.beckettdbz.com
if that doesn't work, here then:
Elizabeth Hurley - Chi Chi (heh heh chi chi with british accent)
Nicole Kidman - Bulma (hmmm....
)
Leonardo DiCaprio - Trunks (actually not too bad
Keanu Reeves - Gohan (teen gohan i assume, they showed a pic of young gohan though
)
Wesley Snipes - Piccolo (just cuz piccolo is black
)
Vin Diesel - Frieza (...he would never accept....EVA!!)
The Rock - Cell (they are both pretty cocky)
Dana Carvey - Master Roshi (lol, dat's b funny as hell
great choice)
Verne 'Mini Me' Troyer/Danny DeBito - Krillin (troyer would work as Chaotzu, and DeVito......just doesn't work)
Jet Li - Vegeta (Li already declined because Fox wouldn't meet his
price..
)
Robin Shou - Goku (i think his role in Mortal Kombat live action could have had the biggest influence on that decision...jackie chan...come on...come on...whyyy!!!!)
Cameron Diaz - Android 18 (this i would like to see, attitude and appearance is there, so is the voice, she's perfect)
Now that i've given u all the poll results, why did i put the link
..just cuz
, enjoy
)
it is definately not fair to judge this new production based on the previous live action Dragonball movie, in fact it wasn't even a real dragonball movie, it was a tribute to dragonball. it was made by a completely different country, company, culture, and technology.
I agree that the Street Fighter live action suxed (why da hell was Guile the focus, damn van damn..ECW rox btw, different van damn, but eh..) hollywood (or whoever) needs a good kick in da shins for making that, Ryu was way to Japanese, he has a more American look to him, the Animated Street Fighter II movie was sweeeeet.
i have seen that jackie chan - street fighter thingamajobber, it's funny as hell!
people need to check that out! oh god [holds his side from splitting]
Akira live action would be pretty cool to see, kinda sik though when u get to the hallucinations and when Tetsuo loses control of his power.

As much as I agree, I will admit that Live-action You're Under Arrest is hilarious. Of course, what you say is true and it's not as good as the original, but it is an enjoyable live-action version of an anime. I have also heard Live-Action GTO is good too.Propyro wrote:nope. I heard there's a live action video of Iria.. In fact, I've seen it.. The thing that gets me though, is that the live action one is a sequel.. Why would there eb an anime original, and then a sequel in live action? That just bugs me. If that wanted to make a sequel, why not make it anime...
