ok, could somone explain waht a lolita complex is ... i've heard of an electra complex, and an odipheus comples, both of them are about children desireing to fill the roles of their parents taht are of teh same sex as them ... (ie son wants to replace father and become mothers object of live.)

Ok an opedius complex is wanting to have sex with your mom i think it's from a story in the the bible I could be wrong. A lolita complex is wanting to have sex with a young girl. It's from a book called Lolita about an old man who had strong feelings for a very young girl but he never does anything to her. Both of them are pretty sick.

Oedipus complex originally comes from a Freudian phase that apparently all children go through. You are semi-correct with your description although it's not really seuxally motivated (since you are too young).

As for where it comes from. It comes from the Greek play "Oedipus Rex." The story is basically about a king and queen whom a prophet says their baby son will kill their father and marry his mother. They abandon him (maybe even try to kill him) in the desrt or something...he later meets his father and kills him (don't remember why..I think his father was on a charriot or something)...he goes to the kingdom...defeats the some mythical beast (answers a riddle)...marries his mom...has sex with her...later finds out...stabs his eyes with glass...it continues into another story IIRC.

ok i was wondering, becasue when i was addicted to porn early in my high school carrere i'd see lolita every wehre i went and never knew what it ment. But yea, you pretty much have the odipheus comple down, except it also involvs killing yoru father so you chn sleep with yoru mother ... then odipheus relised what he did and gouged out his eyes ... i don't think it came form the bible, it sounds liek a greek story to me, or at lesat the name sounds anchient greek. And i don't remember reading about a lot of greeks in the old testament.

i think yoru right, it was problaby homer, or some other greek philosopher. I know it wasn't roman though. But Freude coined the term "odipheus complex" after that story, thats problaby why people think freud came up with it. I think he also did lolita and electra ... not sure, i never studdied psyche.
